I spent half an hour for it to download, just for it to say download:forbidden. Thats time im never getting back

just found out what was making Sidechain Fever lag for me; the unholy amount of puyos. near the end of the song with less puyos, it dosen't lag. but at the beggining since there's more puyos, it lags, please add an option to have less puyos in sidechain fever.

Any idea when the next update will be? I am LOVING this game!

necesitas mejorar el juego y ponerle la dificultad dificil

This was a super fun experience!!! I found this game via youtube last night and was immediately in love with the game's soundtrack and artstyle :D Toootally scratched my itch for a parappa-like game without feeling too derivative!! Also deceptively difficult lol (at least for me)

I used a dualsense controller for this and found using the directional buttons to be pretty clunky/uncomfortable during record scratching sections, but also the menus would go completely unresponsive if I were to remap the controls. I wasn't able to test out if using a control stick felt any better because of that :')

Although this has already been mentioned in other comments, I also totally feel like the story mode has some pretty inconsistent difficulty spikes, though the scoring system was forgiving enough that I didn't get stuck on any particular song.

I also felt that it was a little too easy to not notice when the line changes from single to double or pink to blue, which was an especially noticeable problem during faster songs like Stir & Mix. Maybe there could be an audio cue or something??

Still, I loved this demo!! Will def keep tabs on the project, and would 110% grab any physical merch if yall decide on that down the line 👍

Overall: 10000000/10 the best indie games are the ones about some nonbinary kid having a No Good Very Bad Day

(+2)

The minimum system requirements I've written are just the system specs that I'm currently aiming for the game to be playable on. It could possibly be functional on systems below those specs anyway, but at the moment I don't plan to test it on specs that low. Honkai Star Rail is a mobile game, so of course they aim their system requirements to be lower. Either way, optimization is still being worked on, this demo was mostly for testing the gameplay mechanics themselves.

¿Para que actualiza el juego cada 2x3?

What are the controls in this demo, my arrow keys don't work. :(

you can check the settings,  the keyboard controls are Q E A  S D and W and the arrows too

Thank you! ((The Creator)I want it free pls.) E D I T: Wait, it's free. (skull emoji)

i scratched my melody too hard...

I was wondering if I need a specific controller such as XBox which is what I'm seeing the most or if I can use any type of controller? I only have my Switch Joy-Cons.

bwomp i gues

please optimize Sidechain Fever. my laptop IS a bit bad, but with the correct settings it can run all songs in the game at the very minimum a comfortably playable state at 80 FPS or so with no stutter at all (besides the game over screen), but Sidechain Fever, the song i was the most excited to play since this song literally got me into Puyo Puyo from the moment i saw the youtube previews, runs terribly. the song itself runs at 50 to 130 FPS, but somehow stutters as all hell and is unplayable?? what?? please fix this.

i tried 2 different x box controllers and the A button opens the pause menu. have no idea why, looked in options couldn't fix it. My 8bit do controller does not seem to do that. weird.

i felt that the Jamtine Icon looks odd and not the same artstyle so i remade it (no hate intended)

This game is amazing. The sound is supreme.  The new updates to the songs and voices are perfect. Don't change a thing! You're on the right track! No pun intended.

That's supposed to be fixed in the latest patch, but if you can, check your title screen to see if its V1.31 or above and let me know so I can be sure!

I don't know why, but it is impossible to get any other score than D or C. I never feel like I'm playing correctly no matter how well I repeat the line and when I feel like I make a perfect line I lose points. I don't know if the scoring system is poorly thought out or not intuitive. Maybe the judgement it gives to the scores is too strict but I really feel that no matter how well I keep up the pace I will not score well.

Try reading this guide from the devlog, hopefully it should help. https://lj-lephemstar.itch.io/scratchin-melodii/devlog/653636/scratchin-melodii-...

Yes I know that guide, I have read it and it still doesn't feel pleasant to play it or freestyle.

I'm not hating the game, I like the aesthetics, I like the songs, I like everything. But playing it just feels wrong. I understand that the game is inspired by parappa but it shouldn't feel just as inconsistent with the score and grades. I'm not a game developer either, maybe it's just my fault. But throughout my playthrough I kept feeling frustrated by the game taking away my score for a line that I felt I did well and I would just like to give this feedback from someone who really likes rhythm games.

(+1)

From my experience, the scoring is sort of consistent. Some rare lines feel weird, like Rensa's "LEFT    LEFT-LEFT" most of the times when I press all three LEFTs it gives me a negative. Instead I end up just pressing the first two and that almost always lands me a positive. It's not easy to get A and S, you have to learn the songs, try the different lines, see when you can freestyle and how, and come up with a plan to make points.

butterman

Is anyone else having their game crash when they try to boot up a song or is it just me?

(+1)

Can't wait for the full game

I could beat the SHIT out of the main character bro, like i mean really give her or him the good ol' one two.

(-1)

*they (main character is genderless)

(-1)

dude I said her or him, that's enough.

Game really surprised me

(1 edit)

Really enjoyed the demo, thanks for the generous amount of stages!

Some feedback:

- Cream Cheese Icing is very difficult for a first stage

Having the first stage use all the available buttons with no build up is a pretty steep curve. I hope the full game has some easier stages at the start like Parappa/Lammy to ease you in. Nami.wav ought to be the first stage in this demo.

- The overworld is far too big

I love the presentation of the overworld, but there's just too much space between points of interest. Surfing the keyboard helps, but unless the full game is going to have collectables or places to perform stunts on the keyboard then it needs to be shrunk down.

- Thank you for freestyling

I am terrible at memorisation, so I often mix the X and Y buttons up or don't have enough time to see what's coming up, so I fat finger my way through the ends of certain lines. I was only able to finish the demo because of how generous it can be when I accidentally freestyle.

- Intro skipping

Being able to fast forward some intros is very appreciated, but it would be nicer to just jump to an appropriate starting point. The fast forwarding still takes time and a little annoying to do on repeat attempts. If Stir & Mix just started immediately where it fast-forwards to on reset then I'd be happier.

- Good/Bad feedback sound

I had difficulty telling just by the sound effect whether I failed a line or not. The correct sound effect may be better off with something a bit more positive like a dinging sound?

Again, thank you for a wonderful demo - the amount you've managed to stretch the Parappa gameplay is inspired and I'm super excited for where it goes from here.

I've since learned that I can get above a C rank by aggressively freestyling which is probably easier for me having the rhythm but lacking the ability to recall the buttons.

BUG:

Menu navigation still possible during transition when resetting a level. I can open the options menu during the transition and the level will be playing in the background. Softlocks at that point and I need to reset the game

I am obsessed with this game but I can't play. Please add a Mac version. Los of people would really appreciate it, including myself.

(-1)

pleas make a mac version

Hello LJ I have a question, can it be played for high or mid-range Android?

Needs a setting for controller stick deadzones, I keep getting misinputs from stick snapback

(+1)

You can adjust your control stick deadzones by going to Options > Controls > Remap Inputs > Calibrate

(+1)

This game is awesome, I mostly came here after I saw Kubzscouts play it and I enjoyed the art style and gameplay so far. Here's my video on the latest song that I tried, which was Side Chain Fever, and I had fun, though I didn't full clear it. Merry Christmas to everyone :)

(+1)

Dude...this demo was AWESOME! The amount of improvements you added to this game is seriously impressive. We had a blast playing this and can't wait for the full release to drop. Keep up the amazing work you're doing. We're wishing you all the best🙌🏾

i am sorry but i really want to play this game will you add a mac version anytime soon?

(+1)

I find the system requirements kinda funny because this game is neither cpu or ram intensive...

(1 edit) (-2)

I finished demo, all songs and here are my humble thoughts and BUGS found:

1. Cream Cheese Icin is much, much harder compared to Nami, Stir & Mix and Grease Poppin. Finishing it took me longer than those 3 combined, even when playing demo for 2nd time. I enjoy this game being hard, but first song (excluding tutorial) easier than 3 next ones including boss isn't something I expected. Still easier than Tennis and Sidechain

2. Hard mode would be amazing, but I'm sure there will be one in future if there is normal and easy mode already

3. "Making wish" thing is masterpiece! :D

4. I like old Cream Cheese Icin little more. Voices, music and all. Only change I would prefer to be is spray painting

5. First bug is seeing trough walls, once you're touching them. You can see under Melodii's stairs, trough walls in her home and outside

6. At the end of Sidechain Fever I had lags. Not to big ones, but lags in rhytm games are lethal.

7. I'm not against it, but in this world, politics etc. Melodii's interaction with bathrooms in McWave's can be disliked by people

However I still love this game, can't wait for full version, will totally buy or preorder it and personally I find Sidechain and Nami songs best <3

(+4)(-1)

Melodii is non-binary, if people don't like it then they can funk off and play some other rhythm game.
